When women support each other, incredible things happen.
I remember how it all started. @jewelling and I were chatting about our careers over coffee and she offered to take some one of a kind / intimate profile shots for me. I admitted to her, that despite being an actress, I was never confident at a photo shoot. I felt that there are all these things that I cannot do properly: how to pose like a model, how to vogue, and the list goes on. She held my hand and assured me that it was going to be fine.
And it did go fine.
Throughout the photo shoot, she kept talking to me to keep me at ease, complimenting me, and assured that I was doing a great job. It felt so honest and heartfelt. We took so many photos. We laughed as we splashed water at each other, and actually had fun. Of course, we also built a friendship that would last a lifetime.
That made me realise something. A strength in a woman is not about showing off your curves, toned abs and muscles, or your latest brand new handbag. It’s about celebrating yourself while raising each other up. That's the strength I see in the @jewelling I know, and that’s what I really admire about her.
So, instead of just quietly admiring an attractive lady you know or even feel outright jealous about her, whether it is because of her grace, style, kindness, or amazing hair, go ahead and tell her and compliment her!
Praise and positivity go a long way for all of us.
Thank you for the photo 💎
